The Queen was determined to unify and rally the Kingdom last night, delivering a rare speech to the nation.

The Queens address (only the 5th ever delivered outside of the Christmas speech) sort not only to calm and reassure the nation, but called on all of the UK and other nations to work together to defeat this pandemic.

“Light the fire of Gondor” Declared the 93 year old monarch. “We need allies, light the beacons of Minas Tirith! Rohan will answer.”

The quote would have usually perplexed most, but after a long stint in isolation the UK populace have had the opportunity to get familiar again with the Lord of the Rings movies (and if you haven’t, you should, they’re excellent!).

“I got chills!” said avid Lord of the Rings and Warhammer fan, Shaun Davies “I found myself leaping to my feet, ripping my shirt off and yelling: ‘Rohan will answer. Muster the Rohirrim!’ I’m sure everything will be ok now. The UK’s got this”

The monarch finished her inspiring speech with this final sentiment: “We should take comfort that while we may have more still to endure, better days will return: we will be with our friends again; we will be with our families again; we will meet again.”

“As long as you f**kers all stay inside.”
